Book lovers, arise! We have a club here!
During the pandemic, when my sense of time and space was blurred, I went to authors like Albert Camus, Jean-Paul Charles Sartre, Franz Kafka, Peter Wessel Zapffe, and Hannah Arendt for existentialist answers, and their works helped me tremendously. I began to read for fun again, and my love for world literature was rekindled.
To read literature as world literature is to understand reality from different viewpoints. It is to see how our fundamental existential questions inspire very different forms of literary creativity across the globe -- to seek intersections across time and space and thereby appreciate the many ways texts represent their cultures.
Books are written to be read and appreciated, and this book club will take us world citizens on a trip to the most amazing places out there through literature.
